Context: Group Project for Emerging Technologies Seminar

Co-Skill is an AI-powered collaborative learning platform designed to help job seekers bridge skill gaps through project-based learning with peers. The platform not only connects individuals with complementary skills but also integrates intelligent AI agents that act as thought partners, collaborators, and facilitators throughout the learning journey. These AI agents actively guide projects, stimulate critical thinking, and facilitate team dynamics—creating a unique blend of human and artificial intelligence to address the critical challenges identified in our research on career readiness and skill development.

Key Problem Addressed

Research shows that job seekers face three critical challenges in skill development:

  1. Lack of practical experience — Theoretical knowledge gained from courses often doesn't translate to real-world application skills that employers value

  2. Isolation in learning — Solo learning lacks accountability, feedback, and motivation needed for consistent progress

  3. Skill validation — Employers prefer demonstrated skills and portfolio projects over certificates alone
     

Co-Skill solves these challenges through a structured, collaborative approach to professional development that mimics real workplace project environments.
